It’s December,

We’ve come this far and I hope that we will be receiving that vaccine before the buds come back to the trees.  Once that happens we can start to make plans for our return to harmonizing together.  Can’t wait.

Meanwhile, here are items for your calendar.

Christmas party on the 17th.  Among the many activities that Carole has planned for us is the reading of your recipes to the group.  Send in clear, typed recipes to Carole M.  She will be making these into a North Shore Harmonizers cookbook.  Be prepared to tell the story behind your recipe at the party even if you haven’t sent it in yet.  Deadline is the end of Dec. for typed copy.

Next week, we will continue singing holiday songs and also enjoy a song with Ruthie and her guitar.   Here are the words.

To everything turn, turn, turn, there is a season turn, turn, turn.

and a time to every purpose under Heaven.

A time to be born a time to die, a time to plant a time to reap,

a time to kill a time to heal, a time to laugh, a time to weep.   …CHORUS

A time to build up, a time to break down, a time to dance, a time to mourn

a time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together.   …CHORUS

A time of love, a time of hate, a time of war, a time of peace

a time you may embrace, a time for refraining from embracing.   …CHORUS

A time to gain, a time to lose, a time to rend a time to sew

a time for love, a time for hate, a time for peace, I swear it’s not too late.  …CHORUS

Then we have two weeks off to bake cookies, Zoom with friends and to send out our Holiday Video.  If your friends and family like to support you and the chorus, remind them of our Donate button.  I know my family will keep that in mind.  Donations of any size are really appreciated and will help sustain us going forward.

I mentioned these in my last directors notes.  We all have something we can share whether it be banjo, piano, singing, flute, recorder, a favorite recording , a painting you have done, a poem you love or have written, a sweater you have knit.  Just a fun time to share  a little bit of yourself that we might not know about.  Nothing polished just an impromptu gathering.  The musicales will be limited to no more than 8 at a time . I’ll continue to add times if there is demand.   First come, first served. Email or call to get on the list.

In January we will  be starting new songs.  My job for December is to get these up and on the website for January.  Thanks to Ilene, and Terry, I think we have some winners.

See you next Thursday,
