Great rehearsal last week.  I actually thought the warmups were most helpful.  I know they weren’t new but I think I’m getting more out of them after hearing the explanations repeated.  Repetition is the name of the game.

I’d like to revisit a skill that I have neglected and that is identifying and remembering the key note or Doh in each piece. I would like to spend some time this coming Thursday working on ways to lock into the key note.  It is also something you can work on by yourself.  Kathy Mattox mentioned that her chorus has been doing this sort of work and it was a good reminder to bring it back for us. She thoroughly enjoyed our rehearsal and it was good to see her.

I have almost everyones audio and hopefully you all have been sending in your videos using our new website portal.  Don’t be afraid to call Judy with any issues.  I have her on speed dial. This is going to be one of our best videos and I’m very excited.  Wait til you see what ideas have been thrown out there by our show committee.  Judy has taken these ideas and turned it into a very clever video and I’ve only seen the beginning and can already attest to it.

I have a 4 part (not gold standard) audio recording  of Will the circle be unbroken that we can use next week to work on that piece and then I think it would be good to ramp up our memorizing skills.  You can’t watch me direct if you aren’t off the paper.  Soon is not a long piece and will be our next video so start memorizing it now.  We need to get back in shape mentally.

Beverly is going to start our warm ups this coming week and then we’ll review some of Ken’s.  It will be a full rehearsal.  See you then.
